With ten years of experience, Ghanaian freelance journalist Zubaida Mabuno Ismail covers environmental, climate change, and gender issues. She is a media trainer, brand marketing consultant, ZAMI Reports managing editor, and Reporters Without Borders reporter in Ghana. She has written articles on Ghana's tree planting drive and the biodiversity issue, the effects of illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing in Ghanaian oceans on fishermen, indigenous peoples' land rights and conservation in East Africa; and the relationship between poverty among rural women in Ghana and climate change. Miss Ismail is also an investigative journalist who is a member of the Norbert Zongo Cell for Investigative Journalists in West Africa (CENOZO) as well as the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ). She has written for China Dialogue Trust, CENOZO, Radio France International, The Architect Journal, Zenger News, and Africa No Filter, among others. She is the former northern region correspondent for the Media General Group (TV3). Miss Ismail is also a 2018 fellow of the Mandela Washington Fellowship of the US State Government.
