Yihsuan Lu is a journalist based in Taipei, Taiwan. I am a correspondent from The Liberty Times (LTN). LTN is a widely-circulated newspaper in Taiwan whose guiding ethos is "Taiwan Foremost, Liberty First", I hold steadfast to the principle of safeguarding freedom of expression, and the core tenet of our publication is Taiwan-centric perspective. With seven years of experience under my belt, I have focused my reporting efforts primarily on foreign policy and political issues, as well as cross-strait affairs. My daily work involves handling breaking news and printed articles, sometimes producing features, character profiles, and exclusive reports. I have experience in independent overseas reporting too, including covering several WHA and APEC conferences. Besides, In 2017, I was recommended by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to represent Taiwan's media in the American Council of Young Political Leaders (ACYPL) visit to the US, which was jointly funded by Taiwan's TECRO and the US State Department. In 2020, I was selected to participate in the US International Reporting Tour for Foreign Press Centers. However, due to the pandemic, the program turned to conduct virtually. Prior to my tenure at The Liberty Times, I served as a student editor for the self-media outlet "NewsEforum" during the Sunflower Movement in Taiwan. Our firsthand reporting drew over 130,000 readers in just three weeks and established our publication as one of the foremost voices in the movement.
