Sohan Rahat is a Documentary photographer, News & Docu Producer and Writer based in Bangladesh. Interested in topics like climate change, Migration and Statelessness, Women Trafficking, Child Marriage, History, Travelling, and the ever-changing narratives of human society. In his 8 years career, he worked with major news and media houses around the world. ITN, Channel 4 News UK, Skynews, National Geographic, Aljazeera, Earthrise, UNHCR are some of the big names he has been working with very closely on a regular basis. Channel 4 News team was nominated for the British television Award and Sky News won the scoop of the year award and Amnesty International Award for the coverage of the Rohingya issue while he was closely working with them on the field. After studying in engineering college he decided to pursue his long time passion as a documentary photographer and completed his post-grad diploma in Photography. His works have been published in major Local and International Platforms. Things started to change dramatically since the Rohingya refugee crisis began in September 2017. He got a call from a British Television house to assist in their major coverage on the Rohingya issue. Since then he has been working as more of a local producer, fixer, cameraman, and journalist on behalf of international media houses. He believes in transparency and honesty in the work. Sensitivity and sensibility of the subject matter and quick to response are some of the key factors he proposes when he works for his clients.
