About Jose
Jose Lopes  Amaral was born (1977) and raised in Luxembourg. After studying Visual Communication Jose started his first Photojournalistic experience in 2009 with a small Newspaper for the Portuguese community in Luxembourg where he documented the different activities of the Portuguese community.

Today, Jose Lopes Amaral is based in Taiwan (since 2013) and focuses on documenting Human rights issues, social issues, unrest, animal rights, environmental issues, and natural catastrophes in Asia, but not only.

His work is published in Die Welt, The Times, L'Express, Asia Times, MediaPart, South China Morning Post, The Wall Street Journal, DeLand, Chicago Tribune, Le Journal du Dimanche, and other News media around the World.

He is distributed by Hans Lucas, NurPhoto, and works with other news organizations by doing Photography and Video work at the international level.

More recently Jose Lopes Amaral has found pleasure in filmmaking and has been working as a freelance Videojournalist for A24, Ruptly Tv, AlaNews, and other news outlets around the World.
