James Tamba-Martha is a Prize-winning documentary photographer, and photojournalist hailing from Kailahun District, Eastern Sierra Leone, West Africa. A talented and highly motivated individual passionate about storytelling and capturing priceless moments. He centered his stories based on the reflexive exploration of the world around him, and its identity with diversification into environmental issues, cultural heritage and traditions, and climate changes. As a photographer, he believes Photography is not just an Art but Life itself. He connects with his subject emotionally and carefully which allows him to capture incisive details. As a professional member of prominent photography and media organizations in Sierra Leone, including the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ), and Sierra Leone Reporters Union (SLRU), and have worked in different capacities for top media outlets like the Africa Young Voices Media Empire (AYV), Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC), Radio Moa. He has worked as an Assistant Communications Officer and Communications Officer for the Sierra Leone Red Cross Society. He has worked with local and international experts in related fields, including Judith Prat, a globally recognized photojournalist and filmmaker from Spain.
